Aeon, a company specialized in sustainable mobility solutions in the UAE, announced the start of the operation of a fully autonomous electric public transport bus along the Ajman Corniche, noting that this project is the first of its kind in the UAE and the region.

The company said in a statement yesterday that the self-driving bus is operating on a road between the Fairmont and Coral Beach hotels on the Ajman Corniche.

She added that to ensure the safety of passengers, the bus is equipped with a range of deep learning technologies, including vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technology, 3D vision and surrounding environment recognition, in addition to automatic navigation between lanes, and sensors with Internet of Things technology, with doors Equipped with motion sensors.

The company indicated that the bus’s intelligent monitoring system detects and monitors the vehicle’s surroundings by receiving data from traffic lights. The bus sends notifications when it approaches the pedestrian crossing path, pointing out that the 15-passenger bus does not emit any harmful carbon emissions. It is also wheelchair accessible.

The company stated that the self-driving electric bus project is a partnership that brings together "Aeon" - the joint venture between "Bee'ah" and "Hilal Enterprises" in Sharjah - the Ajman-based business acceleration platform "Ajman X", and "Etisalat" company. ».
