This is China's largest deep-sea aquaculture of Atlantic salmon "introduction and transfer + land-sea relay" project.
With the support of the marine authorities in Yantai and Qingdao, this batch of high-quality Atlantic salmon fry were introduced from Iceland, hatched and cultivated to a certain specification, and "delivered" from the Guoxin Dongfang (Yantai) recirculating aquaculture base and arrived in Qingdao. "Anjia" in the marine green breeding experimental zone.
According to reports, the nutritional value of Atlantic salmon is high. In recent years, the global supply of Atlantic salmon has remained above 2 million tons per year.
Among them, the European Union, the United States and China account for more than 60% of global consumption.
The shipment of 100,000 Atlantic salmon fry into the deep sea also marks the maturity of Shandong's “fry introduction and transfer + land-based factory farming + land-sea relay deep-sea cultivation” path of high economic value cold-water fish.
It is reported that around the smooth two-way introduction and breeding channels of international and domestic varieties, the Yantai area has built China’s first transfer isolation facility that meets both seawater and freshwater environments and has the introduction of all types of marine germplasm resources. The local customs department has also set up special channels to shorten the time for customs clearance of imported germplasm resources.
