This was stated by the aide of the Russian President Yuri Ushakov.
"Both the president and the chairman spoke in favor of increasing the share of national currencies in mutual settlements, for expanding cooperation to ensure access of Russian and Chinese investors to each other's stock markets," RIA Novosti quotes Ushakov.
Also during the meeting, Putin noted the importance of coordinating the efforts of Russia and China for global stability.
He called relations between Russia and China a model of interstate cooperation in the 21st century.
