The 56-year-old Li Qiang is the general manager of this company. He has been working here since 2010.

  "Our company's seawater desalination project uses a double membrane process, equipped with 5 sets of reverse osmosis units with a monomer capacity of 10,000 tons/day, and the current water supply capacity can reach 20,000 to 30,000 tons/day." Li Qiang said, seawater The processed desalinated water is of excellent quality and can be used as industrial and domestic water. At present, it is mainly supplied to nearby China Resources Power, MCC Ramu, Shougang Jingtang and other companies for industrial production.

  On the 14th, Li Qiang patrolled the seawater desalination process on an air flotation system located at a high altitude.

He said that after this process, the clean water from the lower layer will flow to the clean water tank, and then into the self-backwashing filter and ultrafiltration system.

  Li Qiang said that fresh water and concentrated brine are obtained after desalination, and the fresh water is sent to various enterprises for production, while the concentrated brine is sent to local chemical companies to extract potassium and bromine, or used as raw material for industrial soda production, or sent to the local area. Drying salt in the salt field has realized the cascade comprehensive utilization of seawater resources, and also avoided the destruction of the sea caused by strong salt water entering the sea.

  Caofeidian, with a sea area of ​​about 2,000 square kilometers and a coastline of about 80 kilometers, is the main area for the development of the coastal economy in Hebei Province and a demonstration area for the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei.

In recent years, as a number of high water-consuming enterprises have settled in, desalination projects have also landed here one after another.

  According to Sun Yan, director of the Development and Reform Bureau of Caofeidian District, Tangshan City, although Caofeidian is located on the coast, water supply and demand are tight.

In the first half of this year, the industrial water consumption of 187 regulated enterprises in Caofeidian was nearly 200 million cubic meters.

Since the relocation of Shougang to Caofeidian, in order to ensure the "water" required for industrial production, 4 desalination projects have been built in the area. In 2020 alone, Caofeidian's direct use of seawater will exceed 79.74 million tons and the amount of desalinated water will be 26.615 million tons.

  3 kilometers south from Caofeidian Beikong Seawater Desalination Co., Ltd. in Tangshan is Shougang Jingtang Iron and Steel United Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shougang Jingtang Company").

In December last year, China's first domestic thermal film coupled seawater desalination project was officially put into operation here.

  Shougang Jingtang Co., Ltd. is China’s first large-scale coastal iron and steel conglomerate to construct a seawater desalination project. It has independently developed the technologies of "Hydropower Symbiosis" and "Heat Film Coupling", and created the world's first "fuel-heat-electricity-water-salt" technology. "Five-effects-in-one whole-process seawater comprehensive utilization technology."

  According to Xu Sheng, director of the desalination area of ​​the Energy and Environment Department of Shougang Jingtang Company, the company's current desalination design capacity has reached 95,000 tons per day, and all the fresh water produced is used for internal production and living.

At present, fresh water production capacity can meet 70% of the company's water demand.

  Sun Yan said that since the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy was put forward, Caofeidian, as a coordinated development demonstration zone, has spared no effort to undertake the deconstruction of Beijing's non-capital functions and industrial transfer, and to develop the desalination industry.

Demonstration of “point-to-point” utilization of desalinated water will be carried out to realize the direct supply of desalinated water to key industrial enterprises and supplement the “moisture” of industrial production.

  At the same time, along the Bohai Bay, the Tangshan Desalination Engineering Technology Research Center, established in August 2015, and the Hebei Desalination Innovation Center, established in August 2019, serve the development of China’s desalination industry and are the core of desalination. Equipment and engineering technology provide testing and evaluation, and conduct more in-depth research on the comprehensive utilization of concentrated seawater.
