Often singled out by environmentalists who find them too big, too heavy and therefore too polluting, SUVs are surprisingly little known.
In any case, this is what a French study by the Cetelem Observatory reveals.
Conducted with thousands of motorists who have been shown photos of several car models, this shows, for example, that only 27% of them classify the Peugeot 3008 as an SUV, or that they are only 16% believe that the Renault Captur is one.
Worse yet, a third of motorists misclassify their own car!
This ignorance contrasts particularly with the fact that 4 out of 10 people questioned criticize the SUV, and consider that the criticisms formulated are perfectly founded!
