This visit was not announced, so there are no journalists on the official plane that takes Naftali Bennett to the United Arab Emirates.

He is the first Israeli head of government to visit that country since the signing of the Abrahamic Accords, at least openly.

Strengthening ties

At the center of this whirlwind trip is the meeting with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed ben Zayed.

Very vaguely, a statement from the Israeli prime minister's office indicates that it will be about strengthening ties between the two countries that normalized their relationship in September 2020.

According to media in Israel, the Iranian nuclear issue, the topic of greatest concern to Israeli officials at the moment will also be on the agenda.

Partnerships

Last June, Israeli Foreign Minister

Yair Lapid visited the Emirates

to inaugurate the Israeli embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Dubai consulate.

A visit which resulted in the signing of several partnership agreements between Israel and the Emirates.
