From Zhuozhuotong Mountain to Fuqing Oasis, Changting, Fujian has changed its face for decades.

Changting, located in the hilly red soil area of the south, has loose soil and high sand content. Once the surface vegetation is destroyed, it is easy to cause soil erosion. In addition to a series of man-made damages, Changting was once one of the most serious soil erosion areas in southern China. one.

The people of Changting are deeply suffering from soil erosion, and they have also made arduous efforts to control soil erosion.

For decades, the people of Changting have gradually turned turbid water and barren hills into green hills, and turned green hills into golden mountains and silver mountains, and finally achieved a green career.

"IT Man" turned into a health manor owner

Walking into Chenlu Manor in Hetian Town, Changting County, the eyes are full of lush greenery, there are a few birdsong from time to time on the mountain, and wild ducks playing in the water.

Surrounded by green forests, bird watching, fishing, and poetic habitation, it is quiet and peaceful.

The owner of Chenlu Manor, Zeng Xianfu, is warmly welcoming guests from afar.

Looking at the emerald-green Chenlu Manor, the guests all praised, but Zeng Xianfu said, "Actually, Changting was completely different from this scene when I was a child. There were bare hillsides, no trees and no grass. At that time, I was thinking about it. To achieve success in future studies, we must change the face of my hometown!"

It turned out that the former Hetian was a large area of bare hills due to serious soil erosion.

"There is food, one meal and one meal, if there are women who dare to marry Hetian", Hetian's poverty is expressed.

Through the unremitting efforts of several generations, the ecology of Hetian has gradually improved. Nowadays, it has many green mountains and beautiful scenery.

Zeng Xianfu was originally a computer network engineer who was engaged in network design in Zhongguancun, Beijing. He is a veritable "IT elite".

Seeing the tremendous changes in his hometown, Zeng Xianfu resolutely decided to leave Beijing and join the ranks of building his hometown.

At present, the country manor, which is positioned for health and nutrition, medicated diet and leisure, has a broad market prospect.

Aiming at business opportunities, Zeng Xianfu created a new type of experience forest farm for medicated diet leisure and health care-Chenlu Manor in 2017.

In the manor, Zeng Xianfu built a farming experience area and a sojourn camping area.

Through his own work experience and network professional foundation, he also built an e-commerce platform.

Considering that Hetian is prone to soil erosion, Zeng Xianfu has done a lot to conserve the soil and water of the manor.

He replanted broad-leaved tree species on the mountain to create a colorful forest landscape belt, built stream revetments and leisure walks under the mountain, and planted organic rice in the fields; relying on the high-quality forest resources after soil erosion control, he introduced the health-preserving medicinal treasure Huanghua Polygala forest medicine planting project.

It is understood that Zeng Xianfu led 119 households in 101 villages in Hetian Town to plant 603 acres of Polygala tenuifolia.

In order to increase the utilization rate and sales volume of Polygala Huanghua, Zeng Xianfu developed Polygala Huanghua tea, Huanghua Polygala root and Hetian chicken with appropriate packaging, etc., and sold them to large and medium cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other large and medium cities through its own network platform. The online output value of 80% in 2020 More than 10,000 yuan (RMB, the same below), the offline output value is more than 300,000 yuan.

"When I was young, my motivation for learning was to drive the development of my hometown. Now the mountains and rivers in my hometown are very good, and I also intend to bring out the specialties of my hometown. Fortunately, my computer major and the industry can be deeply integrated. I hope there will be more in the future. Many urbanites can enjoy the taste of our countryside." Zeng Xianfu said.

Hetian Feiji became the "Golden Phoenix" for fortune and wealth

In Changting, you can see Hetian chickens that "walk in the garden" everywhere. They are the "golden phoenixes" that make money and get rich.

Especially in the original soil erosion area, many poor households rely on the farming of Hetian chickens to get rid of poverty and become rich.

I have to mention Lan Xiaohong from Lanxiu Chicken Farm in Hetian Township.

Lanxiu Chicken Farm in Hetian Town is located in the original soil and water conservation area of Hetian Town. It used to be an abandoned rare earth mine with no grass growing and serious soil erosion.

It took Lan Xiaohong more than ten years to transform the abandoned rare earth mine into a paradise for Hetian chickens.

In 2006, Lan Xiaohong contracted 500 acres of barren hills in the village to breed frogs.

After she made up her mind to build a green ecological chicken farm, Lan Xiaohong began to exchange chicken seedlings for saplings, insisting on planting trees year after year.

After more than ten years, she has planted more than 10,000 seedlings such as sweet-scented osmanthus, bamboo, podocarpus, and yew. The former barren hills are now covered by green trees and grass, the trees are shaded, chickens and birds are vying, and they are full of vitality.

Lan Xiaohong did not expect at the time that the abandoned rare earth mines in the past would become the current Hetian chicken breeding base.

“Originally, we started planting forests in order to raise chickens. Later, when the forests became better, we focused on raising river frogs. Chicken manure was turned into fertilizer to make the forests grow better. The green waters and green mountains have really become golden mountains and silver mountains."

It is understood that at present, the farm has built a garden-style farm with a total area of more than 500 acres, which can provide 2 million chickens per year and 100,000 broilers per year, with an average annual output value of 12 million yuan and a net income of more than 2 million yuan. Drive more than 100 farmers.

"Turbid water and barren mountains" counterattack into "green granary"

Benefiting from the green waters and green mountains, the people of Changting not only improved their living conditions, but also reaped wealth from the mountains and tasted the benefits of managing barren mountains and protecting the ecology.

Thanks to everyone's efforts, the original "turbid water and barren mountain" has become a "granary".

The Thousand-Mu Chestnut Base in Xianggongting, Hetian Town, is one of the "thousand-mu large granaries."

It is understood that the Xianggongting Thousand Mu Chestnut Base was established in 1999, covering an area of 1,050 acres. It has successively planted nine varieties of fine chestnut varieties and a total of 30,150 trees in Chushuhong.

In addition, Dendrobium officinale is interplanted on the tree, and economic crops such as daylily, yellow mast, peanut, and passion fruit are planted under the tree, and Hetian chicken is also free-range.

According to Yue Hui, director of the Changting County Soil and Water Conservation Center, for water and soil conservation, in the past few years, it has implemented chestnut orchard transformation, orchard soil improvement, slope farming transformation, and developed an e-commerce model. Now the chestnut base has been built into an orchard for planting and breeding. A family farm-style comprehensive service center integrating e-commerce services, eco-tourism and catering services.

It is understood that in 2020, Xianggongting’s 1,000-mu chestnut-based real estate is worth 2.3 million yuan, with a net income of nearly 1 million yuan. At the same time, it has driven the surrounding people to work in business, and truly realized the "people's wealth and ecological beauty".

With the continuous efforts of the people of Changting, the county's soil erosion rate has dropped from 10.26% in 2012 to 6.78% in 2020, and the forest coverage rate has increased to 80.3%.

The successful practice of soil erosion control and ecological construction in Changting County has been praised by leaders and experts as "not only a banner for the construction of an ecological province in Fujian, but also a model of soil erosion control in the southern region."

“Changting soil erosion control has driven and led the organic development of the county’s economy. Since 2017, Changting County has been ranked among the “Top Ten County Economic Development Counties” in Fujian Province for four consecutive years. The historic change to Jinshan Yinshan." Yue Hui said.
