New devices that make it easier for people with disabilities in their arms and legs to drive a car are being introduced one after another, and the person in charge of the manufacturer says, "I want you to feel free to enjoy driving."

Of these, Mazda introduced a device designed to make it easier for people with disabilities in the lower body to drive.

The steering wheel has a double ring shape, and you can accelerate by pushing the inner ring instead of the accelerator.

Brake operation is also performed with the lever on the left side of the steering wheel.

It means that it can be attached to hybrid cars and EV = electric cars released this year.

Masaaki Matsuyama, chief executive of Mazda's Domestic Sales Headquarters, said, "Since it also has accelerator and brake pedals, I would like you to feel free to enjoy driving, such as changing driving with friends and family."

Honda is also developing a device that allows people with disabilities in both arms to change direction and operate the shift lever with the pedals at their feet.

As it can be installed in the latest models of cars, manufacturers are expanding their efforts in this field to get more people to drive their cars.
