is an apartment in Paju, Gyeonggi-do that has been sold and paid up to the down payment, but the construction is in danger of being stopped suddenly.

The Ministry of National Defense took issue with the height of the apartment, and reporter Han Sang-woo reports why it happened.

is a construction site in Unjeong City, Paju, Gyeonggi-do.

3,400 apartments and officetels are scheduled to be built, and the so-called 'sold out' with a competition ratio of up to 57:1, and the down payment of more than 100 million won has been completed.

But under these circumstances, a court order was issued last week to stop construction.

The defense ministry's argument was accepted that the building had a maximum of 49 stories and was over 170 meters high, which would interfere with the firing of artillery units from nearby air defense artillery units.

The Ministry of National Defense is insisting that the height of the building should be lowered by more than 40 meters, but those who have already received the sale are absurd.

[Officetel Contractor: The down payment goes into the whole contract, and then where do you have to figure it out? Doesn't this make so much sense? I really liked that I won the high (higher floor)... .]

Paju city's position is that the fault lies with the Ministry of National Defense.

This is because when an application for a building permit came in, they knew that there were military bases nearby and had already asked the Ministry of National Defense and the Board of Audit and Inspection whether it was necessary to consult in advance.

However, the Ministry of National Defense replied that it was not necessary at that time, and then changed the statement that consultations should be held after a year has passed.

[Paju City official: I'm really in trouble now.

There are parts that cause a lot of damage to those who have signed a sale contract...

first, the Ministry of National Defense gave a principled answer because Unjeong City is not a military facility protection zone, but said that it was in the position that consultations should be repeated for each apartment complex within the new city.

The court is planning to make a final decision within one month by synthesizing the positions of the Ministry of National Defense and the three construction companies in Paju, but in the meantime, anxiety among contractors has continued.
