  According to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Communications Administration, this plateau 5G base station is located in Saitula Town, Pishan County, Hotan District, 3700 meters above sea level. Mode operation, after the base station is opened, the signal coverage radius is about 5 kilometers.

  Saitula Town is a plateau border town, located in the middle of the Karakoram Mountains. The town government is located more than 400 kilometers away from Pishan County.

The average elevation of the whole town is about 4,600 meters. The area is cold and hypoxic, and the mountain roads are rugged. However, the small town is the main transportation road from Xinjiang to Tibet.

Every summer and autumn, the local area receives a large number of tourists traveling between Xinjiang and Tibet, and the township receives 2,000 tourists a day.

  Ma Zhuqing, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Communications Administration of the Autonomous Region, said: “The construction of 5G base stations in high-altitude areas is a major test for the builders of the information and communications industry in Xinjiang. Balance and insufficiency issues will promote the consolidation of poverty alleviation achievements in border areas and the realization of rural revitalization."

  Statistics from the Communications Administration of the Autonomous Region show that since this year, Xinjiang has built 12,835 5G base stations, and 19,343 5G base stations have been built in the region, with a total investment of 1.98 billion yuan.
