The policies must take care of the purchasing power of the French.

In any case, this is the appeal launched by Michel-Edouard Leclerc.

"The politicians say that it is necessary to raise the prices for agriculture, for good ecology, to penalize thermal energies", he affirms at the microphone of the morning weekend of Europe 1.

The French particularly concerned about the rise in prices 

"But they do not realize that we have to cope with the tempo of the purchasing power of consumers: we had five or six years of deflation and their speech made sense, but then inflation is coming back! say they are particularly concerned about the rise in prices and purchasing power. This will be one of the criteria, I think a major one, of the election.

An idea which is also confirmed by an Odoxa - FG2A poll for Europe 1, according to which purchasing power is the main concern of 45% of French people for the presidential election.

"We choose the brand of pasta more wisely"

And this is not surprising, according to the CEO of the E.Leclerc group, who is already observing a change in the way his customers consume.

"Consumption remains strong, but customers come more and more often and buy less. We can see that there are hesitations, the arbitration time is longer."

And to speculate: "I have the impression that we take into account the income of the whole family, and then with the approach of Christmas we know that we have to give gifts, so there will be a drain of can -Be 200-300 euros. And so we choose more wisely the brand of pasta, wine and all that… It becomes more rational ".
