An ANT1 correspondent said the rise in gas prices had a significant impact on Greece.

She also asked if Moscow can help Athens in this situation.

“Would you like us to supply natural gas for free?” Peskov said.

The journalist asked the Russian representative for advice on how to ensure stable gas prices in the current volatile environment.

Peskov said that natural gas prices are stable, the cost increased only on the spot market.

He also said that Russia cannot guarantee a discount on fuel for Greece.

“This is a matter of bilateral agreements with Gazprom.

You simply sign a contract with Gazprom, which is valid for a specific period, and if this is a long-term agreement, you will continue to receive natural gas at the predicted price, ”Peskov said.

According to him, in this way the gas price will be fixed and will not fluctuate from $ 500 to $ 1100 per 1,000 cubic meters per night.

Previously, Peskov said that natural gas supplies from Russia cover 40% of Greece's needs.
