CCTV News: The National Grain and Material Reserve Bureau announced on December 7 that my country’s autumn grain purchases have reached a peak and the overall progress is smooth.
Autumn crops mainly include three varieties of rice, corn, and soybeans.
At present, the purchase of autumn grains is progressing smoothly. The main producing areas have purchased 131 billion jin of autumn grains, which is roughly the same as the average level.
From the perspective of the acquisition progress, the cumulative acquisition of 40.3 billion jin of mid-late indica rice and 36.2 billion jin of japonica rice is faster than last year.
A total of 2.3 billion catties of soybeans have been purchased, which is the same as last year's progress.
The cumulative purchase of corn was 52.2 billion catties, which was a little slower than last year, but also reached the average level of the same period in recent years.
In response to the problems of farmers in harvesting, storing, drying, and selling grain under the conditions of market-oriented purchases, all localities give full play to the role of grain post-production service centers to help grain farmers reduce losses and increase income.
At present, my country has established more than 5,400 grain post-production service centers, covering more than 1,000 grain-producing counties across the country.
