According to a media report, the United States Department of Justice told Deutsche Bank that it may have violated a settlement.

As the American newspaper "Wall Street Journal" reports, contrary to an earlier agreement, the Frankfurt institute did not forward an internal complaint in the fund subsidiary DWS to the prosecutors.

In January, Deutsche Bank agreed with the Justice Department to pay more than $ 130 million to dispel allegations of bribery and forward manipulation.

Part of the deal was also to assist law enforcement officers and forward allegations of wrongdoing.

The complaint at the center of the new conflict comes from Desiree Fixler, former head of sustainability at DWS Group.

In March she accused DWS of fraudulent labeling in the identification of her sustainable investments.

American law enforcement officers first learned of the complaint in August when it was published in the Wall Street Journal.

After the communication between Deutsche Bank and the Justice Department was published, the institute's shares came under pressure.

On Thursday morning it lost 1.7 percent and was 11.15 euros.

The new conflict with the Justice Department joins a number of other legal and regulatory issues that are hindering Christian Sewing's plan to whip his house up.

Increased spending to fix the problems this year forced the bank to abandon its cost-cutting goal.

In addition, the business units dealing with money laundering and compliance were reorganized.

So far it has not yet been finally clarified whether Deutsche Bank has violated the settlement, said a person who is familiar with the subject of the "Wall Street Journal".

She does not want to be named because the exchange between the US Department and Deutsche Bank is not public.

There is a possibility that the ministry could end its investigation without further action.

Representatives from Deutsche Bank and the Justice Department refused to comment on the matter.

The US Department of Justice has been looking at indications over the past few months that settlement companies are failing to meet their obligations.

The Ministry of Justice's warning to Deutsche Bank could now mean that the previous agreement is no longer applicable and a complaint is filed.
