China News Service, Zhuzhou, December 8 (Liu Manguan Ziwen) 2021 China International Rail Transit and Equipment Manufacturing Industry Expo (hereinafter referred to as "Rail Expo") opened on the 8th in Zhuzhou, Hunan.
Officials from embassies and consulates in China and representatives of business associations from 16 countries and regions including the United States and Germany organized a delegation to attend the meeting.
Rail Expo is the only national-level international professional exhibition in the industry co-sponsored by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Hunan Provincial People's Government. It is held every two years.
With the theme of "Smart Rail, Connecting the Future", this year's Rail Expo has an exhibition area of 60,000 square meters. More than 800 Chinese and foreign companies such as 3M, Caterpillar, Westinghouse and other online and offline exhibitors will exhibit and release a batch of New products, new technologies, new achievements.

The three-day exhibition will hold 1 theme event, 6 special events and 10 market-oriented supporting events.
Among them, the UAE will serve as the guest of honor for in-depth exchanges with Chinese and foreign companies; more than 10 well-known American companies will participate in the exhibition, and a roundtable forum on China-US rail transit international cooperation will be held.
More than 20 academicians, well-known experts and many influential entrepreneurs in the industry will discuss the development trend of the rail transit industry.
In the meantime, 70 investment projects for rail transit and equipment manufacturing industry in Hunan Province will be announced, with a total investment of 121.63 billion yuan; 23 signed projects (including 2 strategic cooperation agreement projects), with a total investment of 10.718 billion yuan.
Zhang Shenfeng, vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, introduced that after decades of development and accumulation, China has established a rail transit equipment manufacturing system with independent research and development, complete supporting facilities, advanced equipment, and large-scale operation. The operating mileage of high-speed railways has reached 38,000 kilometers. The operating mileage of rail transit is 7715.31 kilometers, the national railway re-tracking rate is 59.5%, and the main railway transportation economic indicators such as passenger turnover, freight delivery volume, and freight turnover are ranked first in the world.
"The world today is undergoing a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, and the rail transit industry is also at a golden opportunity for technological explosion and integration." Zhang Shenfeng said that rail transit has become a symbol of "China's speed" and a business card for "going out". Rail Expo provides an important platform for displaying the latest technologies and achievements in the industry, deepening production capacity and equipment manufacturing cooperation.
Hunan Zhuzhou is known as the "Capital of Electric Locomotives in China" and is the world's largest rail transit manufacturing base with the strongest supporting facilities and leading technology.
The local supporting rate of Zhuzhou rail transit industry is over 80%, rail transit products have been exported to more than 70 countries and regions around the world, and the global market share of electric locomotives is 27%, ranking first in the world.
Starting from this year, the Rail Expo will be settled in Zhuzhou for a long time.
