Some use foreign elements in their names and advertisements, and some have registered trademarks abroad and are produced in China

Why do some "real domestic products" hang "fake foreign brands"?

News from our newspaper (Reporter Liu Bing) Recently, the China Securities Regulatory Commission issued an inquiry letter to Mousse.

One of the problems is to ask Mousse to explain the basic situation of the foreigner in the advertisement and its relationship with the company's products; at the same time, explain whether the company publicizes the person externally, whether it is consistent with the actual situation, and whether the external promotion of its products is appropriate and appropriate. Whether there is false propaganda.

This triggered a heated discussion about the mousse's "foreign flavor" advertisement and the discussion about some "real domestic products" but "fake foreign brands".

Mousse was founded in 2004, specializing in the research and development, production and sales of a complete set of healthy sleep system products. It is a domestic brand.

In its advertisement, an old foreign man is dressed in white, wearing glasses, and a gray beard.

As an advertising image, this highly recognizable foreigner caused many people to associate him with mousse mattresses, and many consumers mistakenly thought mousse was a foreign brand.

This is not the first time that "foreign flavor" advertisements have raised questions.

Previously, brands with "foreign" names such as Oudian Flooring and American Shien also made some consumers mistakenly believe that they are foreign brands, but they are all domestic brands.

In response to this, Xiong Chao, a lawyer at Beijing Jingshi Law Firm, said that trademarks are registered in China, and product design, research and development, production, and sales are all carried out in China, but they take a foreign name and package them into foreign brands.

This situation is a low-level form of "fake foreign brands".

"Some companies have registered trademarks abroad, imported technology or raw materials from abroad, imitated similar foreign products in design, and even foreigners participated in the design, but the products were produced in China. Because they are not produced under a foreign regulatory system, so The brand is also a'fake foreign brand'." Xiong Chao said.

Xiao Shao, who likes Japanese-style products, told reporters that there have been more and more "pseudo-Japanese" products in recent years. They imitated Japanese products from product names to advertisements, inducing consumers to think that they are Japanese brands, but they are actually domestic brands.

Obviously it is a domestic brand, but it has to use foreign elements in the company name and advertising.

Chen Zhongyun, a professor at China University of Political Science and Law, believes that the purpose of some domestic brands packaging themselves into "foreign brands" and "internationally well-known brands" is to take shortcuts in brand building and match prices with Zhenyang brands.

A foreign label may be regarded by consumers as a "high-end, high-end, high-end" foreign product.

Earlier, a home furnishing brand named after a well-known person in Italy was revealed. Most of the furniture it sells is produced in Dongguan, Guangdong instead of Italy. The raw materials used are not expensive solid wood, but polymer resin materials, but their prices are generally higher than similar in the market. The product is several times.

Chen Zhongyun said that if we blindly adopt this "foreign brand" marketing method and spend a lot of energy on packaging and marketing instead of focusing on quality, we will eventually lose the trust of consumers completely.

Xiong Chao believes that although "fake foreign brands" are unethical or deceptive methods used by some businesses to make huge profits, it also reveals that there are still some loopholes in my country's regulatory system.

The Consumers Association reminds consumers that when they see all kinds of "foreign goods", they must keep their eyes open and not blindly follow the trend to avoid being deceived.

The quality of the product should be used to decide whether to buy or not.
