Lidl has not finished developing in France.
In an interview with
Linéaires
magazine on
Tuesday, Michel Biero, executive purchasing and marketing director of the brand in France, displays his ambitions for the years to come.
"We are back on the expansion with 35 openings in 2021 and it will continue at the same pace in the coming years, even if the competitors put us sticks in the wheels", explains the person in charge, who estimates to have still "a potential of 200 additional stores ”.
Soon local products, bulk and organic
The famous discount chain currently has 1,575 points of sale in France.
In recent years, it has favored the renovation of its park, even if it means setting aside its expansion.
The company now seems ready to change strategy and could therefore have nearly 1,800 stores in a few years.
Michel Biero also took advantage of this interview to unveil some new products to come at Lidl.
The brand wants to devote space to local products from next year and to launch into bulk and organic.
