  Jilin Province is located in one of the three major black soil regions in the world. It is an important commodity grain production base in China and shoulders the important responsibility of ensuring national food security.

  In 2021, the sown area of ​​grain in Jilin Province will be 85,819,500 mu, an increase of 592,800 mu over the previous year, laying a solid foundation for the increase in grain output.

  According to the Jilin Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the area affected by drought, floods, wind and hail and other crops in Jilin Province this year was only 737,000 mu, which was less than 4% of the area affected by the disaster in the previous year.

A total of 16.029 million mu of pests and diseases of major food crops occurred, a year-on-year decrease of 19.6%, and the occurrence and damage were relatively minor.

The province has completed 75,000 soil sample collections and tests, 810 fertilizer field trials, and established fertilizer reduction and efficiency demonstration areas (regions) with an area of ​​more than 400,000 mu.

More than 1.5 million acres of green prevention and control technologies such as biological control of rice stem borers and sex pheromone control of rice stem borers have been carried out, and more than 900,000 acres of pilot demonstration areas have been carried out for flying control of rice diseases and insect pests.
