  From January to October, the operating profit and operating cost of Internet companies increased simultaneously. Internet companies achieved operating profit of 117.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.3%.

Operating costs increased by 20.9% year-on-year, and the growth rate dropped by 3.7% from the previous three quarters.

  At the same time, the growth rate of R&D expenses of Internet companies fell.

From January to October, Internet companies invested 58.79 billion yuan in R&D expenses, which was an increase of 2.6% year-on-year on the basis of a higher base in the same period last year, and the growth rate dropped by 9.3 percentage points from the previous three quarters.

  In terms of mobile Internet, the total number of mobile applications (APP) in the Chinese market continues to decline.

As of the end of October, the number of apps monitored on the Chinese domestic market was 2.72 million, a net decrease of 20,000 from the end of September.

Among them, the number of apps in the local third-party app store was 1.36 million, and the number of apps in the Apple Store (China) was 1.36 million.

  Among all kinds of apps, the number of game apps still ranks first.

As of the end of October, the number of game apps reached 679,000, which was the same as at the end of September, accounting for 25% of all apps.

  As of the end of October, China's third-party application stores have distributed a total of 2,039.4 billion applications on shelves.

Among them, the number of downloads of games, daily tools, social communication, and music and video apps all exceeded 200 billion, reaching 292.4 billion, 279.2 billion, 254.5 billion, and 231 billion, respectively, ranking first to fourth.
