On December 1, the Anqing-Jiujiang high-speed railway entered the test phase of full-line operation, marking that this railway is one step closer to being officially opened to traffic.

The Anjiu high-speed railway is an important part of the China-Beijing-Hong Kong Expressway in the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network.

The line starts in Anqing City, Anhui Province, passes through Huangmei County, Hubei Province, and ends in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. The main line is about 170.9 kilometers long and has a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The entire line has 7 stations including Anqing West, Taihunan, Huangmeidong, and Lushan. .

The railway trial operation is based on the railway department’s testing of the line up to the standard in the joint commissioning and joint trial phase, and through project tests such as train diagram parameter testing, fault simulation, emergency rescue drills, and map driving tests to verify that the overall system is in normal, limit, and The adaptability and stability of operations under conditions such as equipment failures and simulated operations enable the entire line to meet the requirements of normal operations and provide a technical basis for perfecting a scientific and reasonable transportation organization plan.

It is understood that the construction of the Anjiu high-speed railway started in September 2017, and it is expected that it will be ready for operation by the end of 2021.

After the railway is completed and opened to traffic, it will form a north-south large-capacity and fast passenger transport corridor in the three provinces of Anhui, Hubei and Jiangxi. The railway running time from Nanchang to Hefei will be reduced from the current fastest 4 hours to about 2 hours. The layout of the regional road network, improving the transportation capacity of the corridor, and driving the economic and social development of the areas along the route are of great significance.
