The reporter learned from China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. that the Laotian government held an award ceremony at the National Convention Center in Vientiane, the capital, on the 1st, and awarded the China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. the "National First Class Development Medal." Awarded the "National First Class Labor Medal" to Lao China Railway Co., Ltd.
At the awarding ceremony, Song Sai Sipantun, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, deputy prime minister, and leader of the Lao-China Railway Project Steering Group, represented the Lao government and expressed support for China’s long-term support for the economic and social development of Laos and promoted the realization of Lao’s economic and social development. We express our sincere gratitude for the historic change from "Landsuo Country" to "Land Union State", and express our sincere gratitude to China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. and Lao China Railway Co., Ltd. for their efforts in the construction of the China-Laos railway, a landmark project of the "Belt and Road" and China-Laos friendship. The China-Laos Railway started construction on December 25, 2016, with a total length of 1,035 kilometers, connecting Kunming, China and Vientiane, Laos, and the entire line adopts Chinese standards.
The Laos "National First-Class Development Medal" and "National First-Class Labor Medal" are the highest-level honors awarded by the Lao government to domestic and foreign institutions and workers who have made outstanding contributions to national development.
