China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing today (27th) announced the logistics operation data from January to October this year.

As the macro-level policies to ensure supply and price stabilization and support the development of the real economy increase, the national economy continues to maintain a recovery trend.

In this context, logistics operations are generally stable, and structural adjustments continue to advance.

From January to October, the total amount of national social logistics was 261.8 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%, an increase of 8.0 percentage points from the same period last year, and an average annual growth rate of 6.5% over the two years.

From the quarter-on-quarter data, despite the impact of complicated factors such as the epidemic situation and poor international supply chains in October, the macro-level policy of ensuring supply and stabilizing prices has been further strengthened, and the effect has gradually emerged. The growth rate of logistics demand rebounded by 0.5 percentage points from September.

He Hui, Assistant to the President of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, Director of China Logistics Information Center:

Logistics has maintained a relatively good momentum of resuming growth, including our energy supply, which has been further improved.

Our relevant policies have been relatively well adjusted and implemented, so in terms of demand, it is reflected in a rebound.

Specifically, from January to October, the total volume of industrial product logistics increased by 10.9% year-on-year, which was higher than the level before the epidemic.

From the perspective of industrial logistics structure, the mining industry, electricity, heat, gas, and water production and supply industries benefited from the energy guarantee policy and the accelerated release of high-quality coal production capacity. In October, they increased by 6.0% and 11.1%, respectively, compared with the previous month. Speed up by 2.8 and 1.4 percentage points.

In addition, the total logistics of units and residents from January to October increased by 13.0% year-on-year, and the two-year average growth rate was 13.4%.

Cai Jin, Vice President of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing:

The fundamental role of the entire logistics for the entire economy is further emerging, especially in the case of the epidemic. Keeping the logistics unblocked and the supply chain unblocked can guarantee us This stable state of the country’s economic operation.

Import logistics continues to fall and the trend is clearly differentiated

Affected by factors such as base effect, seasonal factors, and repeated overseas epidemics, data show that the flow of imported logistics continues to decline, and the import volume of different goods has clearly differentiated.

From January to October, the volume of imported materials fell by 1.1% year-on-year; the volume of imported materials fell by 6.6% in the same month, and it has declined for five consecutive months.

From the perspective of different types of goods, as the effects of domestic supply guarantee policies continue to increase, the import volume of various means of production has maintained a downward trend, and the import volume of bulk commodities such as iron ore and oil has significantly weakened.

In the first 10 months of this year, my country’s imports of iron ore fell by 4.2%; crude oil fell by 7.2%; refined oil fell by 7.1%; steel products fell by 30.3%.

He Hui, Director of China Logistics Information Center:

Affected by the high prices and high costs of bulk commodities and raw materials, our imports have maintained a growth in terms of amount, but from the perspective of physical quantity and logistics. Speaking, we still have a decline, of course, because its cost is too high, and it has a relatively large impact on our production and consumption.

In addition, the import volume of high-tech products and mechanical and electrical products has maintained rapid growth.

Among them, the import volume of integrated circuits increased by 21.3%; the import volume of automobiles (including chassis) increased by 11.9%.

Logistics service prices continued to increase, and business operations improved

Since the beginning of this year, logistics supply and demand have continued to improve, and service prices have continued to rise to a high level.

The scale of logistics income continued to expand, and business operations improved.

From the perspective of different transportation methods, the marine transportation market continued to improve, with the composite index rising at a high level.

The road logistics and transportation market is steadily rising, and the price level has risen slightly.

He Hui, Director of China Logistics Information Center: The

domestic service prices of logistics have rebounded to a certain extent. On the basis of low levels, international logistics prices have continued to rise, especially when it is “difficult to find one box”. The trend of high water steadily rising.

From January to October, China’s coastal bulk freight index averaged 1,267.93 points, a year-on-year increase of 25.9%; China’s export container freight index averaged 2,481.82 points, a year-on-year increase of 173.7%.

The price level continued to rise on the basis of the relatively high level in the first three quarters.

Cai Jin, vice chairman of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing:

From the perspective of containers, it mainly reflects the impact of the epidemic on shipping. This kind of obstruction is relatively large, but it also promotes the further optimization of the entire logistics structure. For example, some land transportation, especially our China-Europe Railway Express, has developed rapidly in the process of being blocked.

Benefiting from the continuous increase in the price of logistics services, the income scale of the logistics industry is also expanding, and the overall industry operating conditions have improved.

From January to October, the total revenue of the logistics industry was 9.7 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.1%, and the growth rate was 15.2 percentage points higher than the same period last year, with an average growth rate of 8.2% over the two years.

In addition, experts reminded that logistics development still faces many difficulties and uncertainties. The high price of raw materials has pushed up the operating costs of enterprises. The stable recovery of small and medium-sized enterprises is not yet firm. Supply chain blockages in some regions and areas still exist.

In particular, the profitability of small and micro logistics enterprises is constantly being squeezed, and it is necessary to further increase policy support and strengthen the pertinence of policies to help small, medium and micro enterprises relieve their difficulties.
