In order to reduce traffic accidents, automakers use cameras and AI = artificial intelligence to analyze not only the situation around the car but also the condition of the driver while driving, and be careful when danger is imminent. The development of technology to encourage people is progressing.

Of these, Honda is developing a mechanism in which AI analyzes not only the situation around the car but also the movement of the driver's eyes at the same time.

If a car or motorcycle approaches you when the driver is not looking at the side mirrors or rear-view mirrors too much, the speaker will sound a warning.

In addition, the movement of pedestrians near the car is displayed by light in conjunction with a dedicated display, and if the driver is not looking in that direction, the seat belt is fastened tightly to call attention.

The company says that the technology that AI supports the driver's driving is rare in the world, and is aiming for practical use in the latter half of the 2020s.

Mazda has also developed a system that detects the movement and posture of the driver's eyes with a camera attached to the car and automatically stops when the driver falls asleep or leans significantly.

From next year, we will sell cars equipped with this system.

Manufacturers expect these new technologies to reduce road accidents.
