Amazon announced its cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office to establish a new logistics center in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

A statement issued yesterday stated that the new center is one of the company's most advanced centers in the region, and aims to promote technical innovation in the logistics sector, support entrepreneurship, and provide thousands of new job opportunities, noting that this cooperation comes within the framework of the innovation program of Abu Dhabi Investment Office, worth two billion dirhams.

According to the statement, the new logistics center is expected to be established by 2024, and it will provide many job opportunities in the coming years, in addition to providing support to entrepreneurs, start-ups and small and medium-sized companies.

“We look forward to working with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, so that the new center will be equipped with the best of Amazon’s advanced logistics services, technological innovations, and sustainability initiatives, as well as employing our long experience,” said Russell Grandiniti, Senior International Vice President of Amazon.

For his part, the head of the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, Muhammad Ali Al-Shurafa, said that the new Amazon logistics center will enhance the innovation system in the emirate, by providing new capabilities and an integrated infrastructure that will benefit other companies as well.

In the same context, Amazon Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa, Ronaldo Mouchawar, said that Amazon is committed to closely cooperating with local partners to promote growth and innovation, with a core focus on providing support to small and medium-sized companies.
