40 years of loving care, planting "four-leaf clover" for children

Zhang Yating picked up the kettle and poured the water into the thermos. She greeted the children loudly, "You come to the front and watch", she motioned to the children to watch her movements, and said loudly with a slightly exaggerated mouth: "Fill - After filling the water, the water overflowed from the mouth of the thermos, and the children shouted "babble". Zhang Yating pointed to the mouth of the bottle and pointed to her mouth, and said loudly, "Full—"

This is the Chinese class "The Ball Flies Up" for the second-year children of the Second Deaf and Mute School in Xi'an. After a class, the teacher has to use sign language with his hands and mouth shape, so he needs to use more body movements to teach by example.

Xi’an No. 2 School for the Deaf and Mute was established in 1982, following the naming rules of the No. 1 School for the Blind and Mute in Xi’an (now Xi’an School for the Blind and Mute), and was named "Xi’an No. 2 School for the Deaf and Mute" when it was founded.

The school has formed a comprehensive system of preschool rehabilitation education, compulsory education, high school education and vocational education for deaf children.

Zhang Yating gave a Chinese lesson to the second grade. There are 13 children in the class. The grades here are not divided by the children’s age, but by the degree of the children’s hearing rehabilitation. The youngest student in this class is only six or seven years old, and the closest one is 12 years old.

Some children cannot hear the sound, some cannot speak, and some children are reluctant to speak because of autism.

During class, the teacher wears an FM frequency meter on the chest. The children receive the teacher’s lecture through the hearing aid sound boots, which can filter out the noise in the environment, so that they can hear the teacher’s voice more clearly. The frequency bands of each classroom are different, and the sound will not "cross-class".

Zhang Yating said that this class is literacy. In the next class, the children will be taken outdoors to find a place to dig a hole, put a ball, and then fill the hole with water, so that the children can truly understand what "the ball comes up" is like. of.

One word, one word, repeated actions over and over again, this patience that makes others find it difficult, is normal for Zhang Yating, who has been teaching for 27 years, "In our school, every teacher comes here like this."

Wang Wenjuan was the first batch of students specializing in special education in the country.

A ninth grade boy likes to read books about science and technology. When he found books of interest on the Internet, he ran to the reading room and asked: "Mr. Wang, do we have this book?" Wang Wenjuan checked and found that there was no such book. , Carefully write down the title of the book on the book, and help the children buy the book.

Every day after class, some children will come to the reading room to borrow and read books. Books bring spiritual nourishment to these children in a silent world.
