According to Kommersant, citing a source, the Ministry of Labor will submit to the Russian Trilateral Commission a draft resolution that introduces an additional tool for assessing poverty.

It is assumed that the poverty line will take into account the current inflation rate.

As a definition of the poverty line, the Ministry of Labor proposes to use the value of the subsistence minimum for the IV quarter of 2020, and revise it every quarter.

Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin introduced amendments to the State Duma to increase the minimum wage and the living wage in 2022 to 13,890 and 12,654 rubles, respectively.

The increase in the living wage will affect 16 million Russians, and the increase in the minimum wage will affect 3 million.
