Sun Haoqin, deputy director of the Seed Management Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, said that up to now, the census and collection of crop germplasm resources have been completed in a total of 2,323 counties. The administrative village census coverage rate of livestock and poultry has reached 97.6%, and the census coverage of aquatic products The rate exceeds 95%, and the census has achieved initial results.
20,800 crop germplasm resources were newly collected, 18 livestock and poultry genetic resources were newly discovered and identified, and more than 30,000 aquaculture germplasm resources were newly collected.
A batch of rare resources was rescued and protected, and 50,000 genetic materials from six major animal species including pigs, horses, cattle, sheep, deer, and camels were newly collected.
