One million tickets sold in 24 hours

On October 6, the SNCF opened for sale TGV tickets for Christmas. “On the opening day of sales, we sold over a million tickets for the Christmas departures,” explained Anne Pruvot. This figure is "that of the pre-Covid years" and is higher than that of 2019: "We feel that the French still want to move and still adore France." Among the favorite destinations of travelers are the large provincial cities: Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Nantes, Rennes ... 100% of TGVs will be used to serve these destinations.

Regularly criticized for the prices of its tickets, the SNCF puts forward the Avantage card at 49 €, which according to Anne Pruvot it is possible to make profitable in a return trip.

"Whatever happens, you have 30% reduction on your tickets. If the reduced-price tickets are no longer available, you have a commitment to pay, depending on the duration of the journey, a price which is much lower than the full price price", she explains, recalling that it is possible to acquire the card at a lower cost during promotions.

However, SNCF has tightened up the conditions for exchanging and reimbursing its tickets: it is only possible to exchange them on D-3 before departure.
