Boeing: The UAE has given the airline industry confidence in the return of air travel again

The President of Boeing in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, Colgate Gata-Ora, stressed the importance of the "Dubai Airshow 2021", describing the future of aviation in the UAE as very bright.

Gata-Ora praised the efforts of the UAE and Dubai in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, which had a great role in organizing an exhibition with this success, in which all participants feel safe, and gives workers in the aviation industry confidence in the return of air travel again.

He said that one of the most important topics covered by "Dubai Air 2021" is to present new technology, inform the participants about it, and introduce them to it.

He added, "Everyone was happy to see the (Boeing 777X), which is a quantum leap in innovation."

He continued, "We have converted our current 777 aircraft, which are in the fleets of a number of airlines in the region, to aircraft that are more technologically advanced and more fuel-efficient as well, in addition to their ability to fly long distances with less fuel burn." He considered the conduct of the first international flight of the Boeing 777X from the Boeing facility in Seattle to Dubai, as a way to present the aircraft's aircraft to the world.

Gata-Ora stressed that the market outlook for the entire region is actually very positive, as there are many major airlines in the UAE, including Emirates Airlines, Etihad Airways and Flydubai.

He said that the recently published commercial market forecasts showed that the aircraft fleet in this region will grow over the next 20 years by 3,500 aircraft, which is a very important number.

He added, "The other really important figure is that we see the creation of 230,000 jobs across the region, from technicians, pilots and aircraft crews, to show the extent of the impact of this important industry on the entire region."

He continued, "We have always had a really strong relationship with the UAE... We have worked hard to help the country achieve its vision of becoming a key player in aviation, so one of the elements that I was really happy to see here is the Boeing 787's vertical stabilizer." Which was manufactured by (Strata Manufacturing Company), and this was a 10-year project, which we worked on with (Strata), whose factory I visited recently, and it is a wonderful state-of-the-art facility.”
