"Du" unveils a "robot" based on the "fifth generation"

During the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Conference and Exhibition “ADIPEC”, du, a subsidiary of the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, reviewed a new use case for a “robot” that is controlled through fifth generation technology, which is based on du’s independent private network of the fifth generation and the “due” network. Athonnet is the fifth generation, independent cloud core, and is powered by Amazon Web Services' Snowball Edge.

Du said in a statement that the new “robot” builds on advanced technologies developed by Energy Robotic, and can be adapted to suit a variety of use cases, including providing an ultra-reliable connection to the fifth generation network with low latency for “robots.” » that are remotely controlled, especially “robots” used to conduct inspections in hazardous environments, such as energy environments, factories, security monitoring, and others.

She added that these "robots" have technologies that allow them to see and hear with the ability to perform measurements, move and act independently, thus contributing to enhancing safety levels for facilities, by conducting accurate and reliable inspections, and recording important data with high quality and processing it in an optimal time through edge computing. , to take appropriate action as soon as possible.

Du’s chief technology officer, Salim Al Balooshi, said: “The standalone 5G network is an important enabler of the use cases of organizations and companies across various sectors, including oil and gas, utilities, manufacturing and agriculture, which helps them to develop their operations in an efficient manner. integrated.”

He added, "We are working with (Amazon Web Services) to provide new use cases for emerging technologies in the field of cloud computing for our enterprise customers in their operational locations across our advanced 5G network, which is the fastest and best performing in the UAE."
