Emirates Air Cargo and Emirates Post develop an e-commerce platform

Emirates Air Cargo and Emirates Post Group signed a memorandum of understanding on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow 2021 to develop a global e-commerce logistics platform from source to final destination, with a main focus on serving markets in the Middle East, Africa and West Asia.

Emirates Airlines stated in a statement yesterday that the Emirates Airline Senior Vice President for the Cargo Department, Nabil Sultan, and the CEO of Emirates Post Group, Abdullah Muhammad Al-Ashram, signed the new partnership, which is the first of its kind between an air freight carrier and a national postal operator. It combines the global network of Emirates Air Cargo with its strong capabilities, the last mile expertise and the logistics services of Emirates Post.

The carrier indicated that this partnership, based on Dubai's strength as a global logistics center, will encourage e-commerce companies to launch operations in the emirate, which is ideally located as an gateway to major consumer markets, explaining that about two-thirds of the total population of the world can be reached within eight hours by plane.
