To date, out of 15,900 requests, CAF has only accepted 5,000.

The donation of days off, RTT, recovery from colleagues to another employee-parent of a seriously ill child or a caregiver is also possible within a company. At BNP Paribas Personal Finance, tuition bonuses and higher education grants for the children of helping employees are increased. Support groups with former caregivers or employed caregivers in post are also set up. To relieve the mental burden of their helping employees, employers give them access to psychological support platforms and facilitating services. When an illness or an accident occurs in a home, caregivers must quickly find a physiotherapist, a meal service, etc., to take care of the vulnerable person.

Service providers, appointed by employers, can take charge of identifying and making appointments with professionals in place of the caregiver.

“The average age of a caregiver is now 49 years old, and is constantly getting younger,” says Christine Lamidel.

In September, Brigitte Bourguignon, Minister Delegate in charge of Autonomy, Sophie Cluzel, Secretary of State for People with Disabilities, and Olivia Grégoire, Secretary of State for Social, Solidarity and Responsible Economy, approached the CSR Platform so that it proposes measures likely to encourage companies to take better account of the situation of their employee-caregivers.

On October 22, the National Assembly approved the principle of broadening the criteria for benefiting from leave dedicated to caregivers, and to compensate it at the minimum wage, so that more people can support an elderly, ill loved one. or disabled.

According to an Apicil and Handéo study in September, these young people are invisible because they are not spotted and not spotted.

However, their situation is at risk, in particular for their education and professional integration.
