The French are fond of subscriptions.

In addition to the essential subscriptions for electricity, internet boxes and smartphones, many consumers also subscribe to streaming platforms, gyms, electronic toll badges or paid mobile applications.

Aided by digital technology, this loyalty practice is growing steadily.

According to various studies, it is estimated that the French would have between 9 and 12 subscriptions on average.

But while this form of engagement has its advantages, it can also weigh heavily on household budgets.

Enough to create a new vein ...

A unique dashboard

While there are already many platforms and mobile applications to better control your personal finances, centralized management of subscriptions was obvious. The argument? By increasing the number of subscriptions to the right and to the left, the French end up not finding their way around, at the risk of forgetting that they pay each month for services and benefits which they no longer necessarily need. Going in this direction, a study published in 2020 by UFC-Que Choisir showed that consumers thought they had 3.5 subscriptions on average, while they held at least nearly double.

Based on this observation, several start-ups offer individuals to keep an eye on their contracts, and thus to save money by carrying out optimizations and terminations, all from a single management platform. Created in Nantes, the free Origame mobile application, for example, detects all your current subscriptions by synchronizing your bank account, before displaying them in a dashboard from which you can modify and cancel them.

For its part, Ideel.io, a competing free platform, promises to save you 550 euros on your subscriptions thanks to this online sorting.

If you have to import your contracts yourself, you will be notified as the end of engagement dates approach.

At Spliiit.com, on the other hand, the concept is based on shared management.

This involves joining groups with the same subscription as you to benefit from multi-user formulas to split the bill.
