How to encourage vocations in agriculture?
Maybe by organizing a gaming competition!
This is the idea launched by the Ministry of Agriculture: an e-sport competition on the game Farming Simulator.
The principle is simple: create and manage your farm as well as possible.
A simulation game about agriculture?
What make some want to get started in real life.
A necessity, because there is an urgent need to recruit and train the next generation of farmers: in France, one in two farmers will be old enough to retire in ten years.
We must therefore boost training.
With this e-sport competition, "we hope to find a new audience," we told the Ministry of Agriculture.
Young people, who do not necessarily follow an agricultural training, and who could be seduced by the professions of the living.

A simulation game larger than life
Farming Simulator is child's play.
Create your profile, then get started.
You will first need to buy some land, then build a farm and barns on it.
You will then need to equip yourself with a tractor or even harvesters.
And then, you have to keep your farm running, as in real life: organize the harvests, manage the breeding ... The competition is played in teams of three.
For the moment, a hundred players are already in the race.
Registrations are open on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture until November 26.
