Kikkoman, a major food manufacturer, decided to raise the price of soy sauce and soy milk in February next year in response to the rise in prices of soybeans and other products.

This will be the first price increase in about 14 years.

According to the announcement, Kikkoman will raise the price of more than 90% of all soy sauce products manufactured by its subsidiaries and all soy milk from the delivery on February 16th next year.

The range of price increases is the suggested retail price,

▽ soy sauce is about 4% to 10%

▽ soy milk is about 5% to 6%,

and the price increase of soy sauce and soy milk is the first in about 14 years since 2008.

The reason is that the company is unable to absorb the costs by its own corporate efforts due to the rise in the transaction price of raw materials soybeans and wheat and the increase in distribution costs due to the influence of high crude oil prices.

Regarding the rise in soybean and wheat prices, three major edible oil makers have decided to raise the price of edible oil for the fourth time this month, and three major flour milling companies will start to raise the price of household wheat flour from early January next year. We have decided to raise the price, and the prices of foodstuffs that are familiar to our daily lives are increasing one after another.
