Major apparel makers and trading companies have set up new organizations to strengthen environmental efforts throughout the fashion industry, and by 2050 they are no longer needed in all processes from production to final disposal. We have decided to eliminate the need to simply incinerate and dispose of clothes.

Issues such as mass disposal of inventories and clothes from homes have been pointed out in the fashion industry.

Under these circumstances, major domestic companies such as sports apparel maker "Goldwin" and general trading company "Itochu" have established an organization called "Japan Sustainable Fashion Alliance" in order to strengthen environmental efforts throughout the industry. ..

By 2050, the organization has set a goal of eliminating the loss of raw materials and the simple incineration and landfill of clothes that are no longer needed in the entire process from production to final disposal.

To this end, in addition to introducing new materials that do not place a burden on the environment, the company plans to improve the system for collecting and recycling clothing.

We also aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to virtually zero by 2050.

Masaki Takao, president of JEPLAN, Inc., a co-representative of the organization, said, "The supply chain of fashion-related industries is very long and complicated, and each company has its own limits. I need to work on it, and I would like to ask consumers for their cooperation. "
