Dubai Land Department launches a comprehensive building classification project

The Dubai Land Department, represented by the Survey Department in the registration and real estate services sector, launched the building classification project, on the sidelines of the Cityscape 2021 exhibition, which concluded yesterday.

The department explained that the project covers 150,000 plots of land, representing the total plots of land in the Emirate of Dubai, which include categories of residential, commercial, industrial and common uses, noting the completion of a survey of 28,835 buildings, 102 villas, 523 villas, 61,321 vacant plots, and 773 A car park, and 6943 plots of land under construction.

She indicated that the project relied on five criteria, with the aim of achieving the highest levels of accuracy in the survey, including engineering and technical standards, sustainability, documentation, health and safety, and management and finance.

She added that a number of questions were included under each criterion to elicit data, the total number of which was 64, and each building was given the appropriate classification, in terms of the number of stars it deserves, from (1 to 4 stars), in addition to the special criterion (4 Plus) for buildings that take into account the highest Green sustainability criteria, pointing out that the classification depends on the available facilities and the quality of maintenance of the building, such as parking, elevators, air conditioning, facade, etc.

In addition, the Dubai Land Department confirmed that the great turnout and strong participation in the "Cityscape 2021" exhibition reflect the depth of confidence in the national economy.

The last day of the exhibition witnessed the department signing two new memoranda of understanding for the real estate promotion trustee, in addition to renewing four other memoranda of understanding in the same context. The second memorandum with the Russian «IMEX Real Estate Brokerage».

The department renewed the memoranda of understanding with four other real estate promotion trustee offices: Front Desk Real Estate from the United States, the International Promotion Trustee Medallion Associates, Dubai Link Real Estate from Canada, and Q4 Consultations from India .
