The Cairo metro, in Egypt, must benefit the workers of Valenciennois, in the North The French railway manufacturer Alstom concluded, on Monday, a contract of 876 million euros for the supply of 55 trainsets to the land of the Pharaohs.

This contract will be financed by the French government, as part of a commitment made by the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, on June 13, during a visit to Cairo.

These are 3.8 billion euros of projects that France must invest in Egypt.

Area reserved for women

Metropolis-type trainsets will therefore be designed and manufactured in France, at the Valenciennes Petite-Forêt site, in the North.

Maintenance will be provided for eight years.

Alstom promises "an unprecedented level of comfort to the inhabitants of Cairo and to tourists", with, in particular, wide corridors, real-time information systems and a space reserved for women.
