“Nord Stream 2 itself remains a knife in Ukraine's back, which entails a huge loss of confidence in Germany over the next decades,” Melnik said in an interview with RND.

The ambassador noted that Berlin did not consult with Kiev during the discussion of the project.

He added that due to the launch of the gas pipeline, Ukraine could lose up to three billion euros.

Earlier, the Eastern Committee of the Federal Republic of Germany said that it would be completely counterproductive to slow down the launch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline for political reasons.
