The resumption of negotiations will take place after almost six months of interruption.

On the nuclear issue, difficult questions will arise.

First of all, Iran's new team of nuclear negotiators are tough figures known for their opposition to the 2015 nuclear deal.

Then, Tehran demands the end of all the sanctions imposed against Iran since 2018 after

the United States' exit from the nuclear agreement

decided by former US President Donald Trump.

However, the United States refuses to lift all sanctions and has just imposed new ones against the Islamic Republic.

Another problem for Tehran, Iran has made significant progress in its nuclear program, in particular by making the enrichment of uranium at 20 and 60% and by considerably increasing its stockpile of enriched uranium contrary to the 2015 agreement. .

Likewise, Tehran uses very modern and powerful centrifuges and has started to manufacture uranium metal.

However, Western leaders have just affirmed that all these activities fall within a military framework.

However, unlike 2015, Iran wants to obtain guarantees from the Americans so as not to have the surprise of an abandonment of the agreement by Washington, which presages long and difficult negotiations.
