Called Bugatti and Rimac Automobili, the new company will establish its headquarters in Croatia, although Bugatti production will of course remain in its historic cradle of Molsheim (Alsace).

With capital owned 55% by Rimac and 45% by Porsche, the firm will have as CEO Mate Rimac, founder of the Rimac Group.

According to the agreement, the Research and Development department will be based in Sveta Nedelja, near Zagreb, in a 200 million euro campus which is currently under construction.

However, the production of cars from Bugatti and Rimac (which is also developing a supercar called Nevera) will be done independently, on one side and the other.

This merger will be beneficial for Bugatti, which will thus benefit from Rimac's expertise in electric powertrains.
