The 4th China International Import Expo will be held in Shanghai from November 5th to 10th.

As a product display platform for "new" life, "cool" technology, and "the most" trend, in the past four years, buyers from all over the country have connected the global market and the Chinese market through the CIIE platform, and more and more CIIE exhibitions Products become commodities, satisfying Chinese consumers’ demand for mid-to-high-end imported consumer goods and services.

At a CIIE fair on Nanjing East Road in Shanghai, the same products of CIIE from more than 40 countries and regions including Argentina, Belgium, and Sri Lanka are on sale here.

Deng Suihua, Commercial Consul of the New Zealand Trade Development Council in Shanghai: The CIIE is very important to New Zealand, allowing us to better understand China and show our products to our partners.

From the previous “buy, buy and buy” abroad to “easy shopping” at home, since the first CIIE, many innovative policies have been implemented, and a number of imported commodity display and trading platforms that undertake the spillover effect of the CIIE have been promoted. Rising from the ground, let the exhibits become commodities.

Among them, the CIIE exhibits use the "exhibition-insurance" policy to land in the bonded logistics center of Hongqiao Business District, and after submitting a guarantee, they will be transported to the bonded exhibition and sales venue for display and sales, so that the CIIE will never end.

Since the beginning of this year, despite the impact of the epidemic and other factors, my country's consumption has maintained steady growth.

In the first three quarters, the total retail sales of consumer goods in my country was 31.8 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.4%. The contribution rate of final consumption to economic growth was 64.8%, which is the most important driving force for economic growth.

The growth rate of consumption upgrade products led all consumer categories. Imports of consumer goods such as jewelry, luggage, watches and clocks increased by more than 40% year-on-year.

The ultra-large-scale market with more than 1.4 billion people and the strong momentum of consumption upgrades are attracting more and more global attention.

At this upcoming CIIE, consumer products, food, automobiles, and medical exhibition areas closely related to consumers' lives will once again usher in a large number of new world premieres.

The wok that will teach you how to cook, the tent for fast driving, the implantable cardioversion defibrillator with Bluetooth connection, and the joint surgery robot will make their debut at this year's CIB.

The concept of green, low-carbon and sustainable consumption runs through all exhibition areas, leading the transformation of green and sustainable lifestyles.

Sun Chenghai, deputy director of the China International Import Expo Bureau: Significant results have also been achieved in promoting consumption. The spillover effect of the CIIE and the improvement of people's lives (quality) have also played a vital role.

As China opens its door wider and wider, it is expected that in the next 10 years, China’s cumulative merchandise imports are expected to exceed US$22 trillion, and more and more high-quality, higher-end, and smarter imported goods and services will be available. Into the homes of ordinary people, to better meet the people's needs for a better life.

African peppers sold to China to promote local agricultural modernization

With the arrival of the 4th CIIE, Rwandan pepper distributors have also begun gearing up, hoping to open up a larger market.

The CIIE has not only built a platform for Africa, but also further promoted the development of local agricultural modernization.

Tewahwa operates a pepper farm in Rwanda, which mainly produces dried peppers, chili oil, chili sauce and other products.

Rwanda is known as the "country of a thousand mountains". The unique geographical environment here is very suitable for growing peppers, and it can produce 2-3 seasons a year.

At the first CIIE, the farm operated by Twahwa exported processed products such as chili sauce and chili oil to China.

On March 11, 2021, the governments of China and Rwanda formally signed a bilateral agreement on the export of dried chilies to China.

In August, the first batch of peppers from Rwanda arrived in Hunan, becoming the first African country to export dried peppers to China.

In the next five years, Rwandan suppliers plan to export 50,000 tons of dried chilies to China.

In order to meet the huge demand of the Chinese market, Twahwa began to update technology to increase production.

In his view, entering the Chinese market can not only increase the income of the locals, but also promote the modernization of local agriculture and increase the planting scale and processing level of peppers.

In the context of the raging new crown epidemic, Sino-Russian bilateral trade still maintains a strong momentum. In 2020, the bilateral trade volume between China and Russia will exceed 100 billion U.S. dollars.

The Russian Export Center hopes to use the CIIE platform to help Russian companies enter the most promising Chinese market better and faster.
