Local transport companies are in a dilemma.

With the corona pandemic, their passenger numbers have decreased significantly.

Hardly any of the municipal companies that carried eight billion passengers last year have recovered from this.

The providers should at the same time cost little, attract more passengers, expand their offers and thus drive the traffic turnaround.

These can hardly be reconciled with each other.

No wonder that some companies are increasing their tariffs due to rising costs and tasks.

Despite strong subsidies, fares have tended to be more expensive.

The customer will have to continue to adjust to this.

None of this is free.

Local transport has its price and needs it too.

In order to help the climate and traffic, buses and trains must also become more attractive with more journeys, new lines, low-emission vehicles and digital support.

So far, politicians have not driven too much in urban traffic.
