On November 2nd, Liang Rubo released an email from all staff announcing the organizational adjustment, the implementation of business line BU (Business Unit, business unit), the establishment of six business sectors: Douyin, Dali Education, Feishu, Volcano Engine, Chaoxi Guangnian and TikTok .
The persons in charge of relevant business sectors all report to Liang Rubo.
In May 2021, Zhang Yiming stated in an internal letter that he and Liang Rubo will complete the transition of Bytedance CEO duties before the end of 2021.
This organizational adjustment means that the handover has been completed as scheduled.
Public data shows that Bytedance has more than 110,000 employees worldwide, and its business covers more than 150 countries and regions.
The email stated that the latest organizational adjustments are based on business needs, "to be mission-driven, always start a business, keep the organization flexible and efficient, and stimulate creativity."
