In relation to the network failure that occurred on the 25th of last month, KT has set a compensation standard for 15 hours, which is 10 times the actual failure time.

In addition, in the case of small business owners, a separate standard of 10-day service charge will be applied.

KT held a briefing session today (1st) at the Gwanghwamun office building and announced measures to prevent recurrence of the recently occurring disability and customer compensation.

Compensation target services include wireless, internet, IP-type phone, and corporate products. Wireless services include additional terminal (second device) services such as tablet PCs and smart watches.

It also applies to low-cost phone and resale Internet customers using KT network.

The compensation standard is 15 hours, which is 10 times 89 times the longest downtime for individual customers and corporate customers.

In addition, small business owners who use the Internet and IP-type phones who have suffered damage from this failure will be compensated based on 10 days of the service fee.

In order to minimize the inconvenience of customers' individual inquiries and applications and to prevent omission of compensation, KT plans to reduce the compensation amount from the November usage fee billed in December without the application process.

In addition, a dedicated support center will be opened and operated for two weeks during this week to smoothly support fee reduction and care for small business owners.

The support center consists of a dedicated website and a dedicated call center to be built separately.

Through the dedicated website, we will guide you through the compensation standards and compensation targets, and we plan to supplement them so that you can check the compensation amount according to the compensation standards.

The dedicated call center plans to solve the inconvenience of customers who have difficulty using the website, and to support additional applications received by customers who are missing from the classification of small business owners.

KT also operates a network innovation TF to promptly and thoroughly implement measures to prevent recurrence.

KT announced that it plans to completely block failures caused by one person's mistake by expanding the existing simulation system.

By virtualizing the test bed, which has been applied only in the preparation stage so far, we push for final testing before applying new routing (network route setting) in each region of the country and apply it to the actual network.

The function to prevent the spread of routing errors applied only to the center network, relay network, and some edge networks is also extended to all edge networks.

We also configure an automatic control system for on-site work to fundamentally prevent work that is out of principle.
