According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the UAE ranks as the largest donor of humanitarian aid in the world, relative to its national income.

The main objective of the UAE’s foreign aid is based on reducing poverty, improving the lives of less fortunate communities, alleviating poverty in them, spreading stability, peace and prosperity in the region, and developing the UAE’s relations with other countries, whether those receiving aid from the UAE or other donor countries. It cooperates with it, in addition to encouraging the establishment of economic relations with developing countries, based on achieving mutual benefits.

The UAE is also seeking to establish a new approach based on providing aid, through the implementation of development projects that are in the interest of the beneficiary countries.

The state leadership has defined a clear approach based on not linking the humanitarian aid provided by the state to the political orientations of the countries that benefit from it, but rather taking into account in the first place the humanitarian aspect, which is the needs of the peoples, which made the state enjoy great respect and appreciation in all international forums.

The UAE focuses on three main areas, such as the protection and empowerment of women, transport and urban infrastructure, and technical cooperation, to enhance the effectiveness of government performance.

These issues are areas in which the UAE has strengths in terms of its development and its ability to benefit partner countries from its previous experiences.

Financial subsidies recorded in the second quarter amounted to 7.89 billion dirhams.
