Last month's production of major domestic automakers fell to one-third of last year due to a stagnation in parts supply due to the spread of infection in Southeast Asia. It fell below.

Eight domestic automakers announced last month's domestic and international production, seven of which were well below last year's level in the same month.

Looking at each manufacturer,

SUBARU decreased by 68% to one-third of last year, Mazda decreased by 44%, Suzuki decreased by 42%, and production decreased to nearly half of last year.

In addition, Toyota Motor and Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. decreased by 39%, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. by 30%, and Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. by 27%.

This is due to the continued lockdown that severely restricts economic activities in Southeast Asia, where many parts manufacturers have many production bases, and the supply of various parts such as semiconductors has been stagnant, which has had a greater impact than in August.

On the other hand, Mitsubishi Motors, whose production had dropped significantly last year due to the spread of infection, increased by 26%.

Although the shortage of parts supply in Southeast Asia is being resolved, the impact of the global semiconductor shortage on production is expected to continue, and from this month to next month, automakers will continue to reduce production volume from the original plan. I'm out.
