“On October 28, 2021, PGNiG sent a letter to Gazprom and Gazprom Export, which amends the PGNiG application of November 2020 to change the price of gas supplied in accordance with the agreement on the sale and purchase of natural gas to the Republic Poland dated September 25, 1996 (the so-called Yamal Contract), downward, so that the current market situation can be taken into account in the process of revising the conditions, ”the company’s TASS message quoted.

In September, the head of the Polish energy concern PGNiG Pavel Majewski did not rule out the possibility of one-time purchases of Russian gas after the expiration of a long-term contract with Gazprom in 2022.

It was also reported that PGNiG received the right to participate in the certification procedure by the German Federal Grid Agency of the operator "Nord Stream - 2".
