In an agricultural product processing enterprise in Fenshuiguan Industrial Park, Guanling Town, Fuding City, many farmers transport freshly picked gardenias to the factory every day.
The 1,000 kilograms of yellow gardenia shipped by Zhinong Xu Qizhuang that day received 5,251 yuan at the purchase price of 4.8 yuan per kilogram on that day.
In the workshop, the horsepower is at full power.
Thousands of yellow gardenias are sent to the high-pressure steam curing machine by the conveyor belt, and then enter the drying process.
The person in charge of the processing company told reporters that this year's gardenia purchase time was half a month earlier than in previous years, and the price has soared.
Workers process and produce them in "three shifts" 24 hours a day to ensure that these dried fruits are processed and shipped to other places as soon as possible.
At present, nearly 60,000 mu of gardenias have been planted in Fuding City, with an annual output of more than 60,600 tons of flowers and fresh fruits. The output of fresh fruits accounts for more than 70% of the domestic medicinal gardenia market share. More than 60,000 people are engaged in gardenia planting or processing. The annual output value of the industrial chain is more than 700 million yuan.
