The Communications Regulatory Authority and the Digital Government announced that the number of numbers transferred between licensees has reached more than 1.7 million mobile phone numbers, since the launch of the service in 2013, while the number of requests to transfer numbers from the beginning of this year to the end of last August reached about 200,000 requests Pointing out that this turnout reflects the authority's success in providing services and initiatives that contribute to raising customer satisfaction and happiness.

The authority indicated that, last August, in cooperation with the licensees, the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation "Etisalat" and the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company "du", it developed systems and automation of procedures, which improved the time for approval of requests to transfer numbers to individuals, to become less than an hour. For most of these requests, previously approval took place within seven working hours.

The Executive Director of the Technology Development Affairs Department at the authority, Eng. Saif bin Ghalita, said that the authority is keen to develop its services and improve performance in a way that achieves the happiness of customers, which is the ultimate goal that we seek to achieve.

He added: "Through this service, we have provided customers with the opportunity to move between service providers and experience the offers they offer, while preserving their phone numbers, which today represent an important part of each of us's identity."

Bin Ghalita stressed that the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and the Digital Government are continuing to introduce new initiatives and constantly develop their services. He added: “We are committed to the directives of the leadership aimed at achieving the happiness of the Emirati society in all its segments and categories, so we constantly seek to re-examine services and ways to provide them, with the aim of simplifying procedures , and the use of available technologies and resources for this, as well as benefiting from the experiences of the countries of the world in developing our services,” noting that what the country has achieved in the field of smart services and digital transformation according to the most important global indicators is clear evidence that we are on the right path.

The authority confirmed that it is making continuous efforts to follow up the commitment of service providers to provide this service to customers with high quality and efficiency, and it works periodically to conduct an intensive audit of applications, and seeks to address any challenges that may arise, with the aim of providing the service with the best quality, and achieving customer happiness.

She indicated that the service of transferring mobile phone numbers between service providers, namely the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation "Etisalat" and the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company "du", applies to all mobile phone numbers that start with the numbers (050, 055, 052, 054, 058, and 056), It can be transferred from one operator to another.

She stated that the service allows customers to move to their preferred service provider, with the ability to return to the previous service provider within three working days, if the services of the new service provider did not meet the subscriber's needs, or a month after transferring the number to the other service provider.
